OGIO White Zinfandel California Rose 2009

This Californian White Zinfandel is a delicately sweet and juicy rose, bursting with delicious strawberry and watermelon flavours.

Early immigrants to America brought cuttings of the Yugoslavian grape "Plavic Mali" to California. During the sea voyage, it is believed that the labels identifying the grapes were accidently switched with the Austrian grape "Zierfandler", which then morphed into "Zinfandel". In the 1970's a rose wine made from this classic red grape captured the hearts and imagination of America and it became the United State's number one selling wine.

Grown in the fertile soils of California's Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys. Located just inland of the mighty Pacific Ocean, the region experiences cool nights and warm days, ideally suited for the creation of fruit-forward White Zinfandel.

It is best served chilled and is a great match to grilled meats, curries and lightly spiced dishes.
